         1
fog streams into a
   foamy sea
     and gives the
       rising sun a river

          2
silence snaps
   moonlight into
     flashes of
      winter
       springs on frosty day

           3
one bird on
  thousand branches
     one river chirps
        for millions of insects

          4
honeyed trees
  drip sap
     and being springs
       along with bees

         5
sun speaks of fluid
   in springtrees
     fog conceals robins' eggs
       from the jay

         6
papered snow
  brought first thoughts
     of warmtimes in wintercold
       revealed a moon

        7
jewels glow underground
  while bare rocks tell us
    to dig our gardens
      elsewhere

       8
loose twigs scatter
   sun-light giving
    leaves a refuge
      to fall

       9
shaky holds on a
  slippery skylight
    up to rooftops of winter
       listening to moonlight

      10
folded velvet-creased
  skies hold up
    the moon with
      silver speckled hands

                                                     11
                                          rain clouds
                  blow in spring
                   winter loses her grip
                      on the earth

                            12
                 one leaf left
                    to come to winter's invite
                       spreading
                          tense and jumpy paper

                             13
              scraped and scoured
                the sun's eyes
              bring wrinkles on the wrong
                 horizon
              of flesh and years

                             14
              one opal necklace
                falls on opened breast
              autumn confused
                about spring

                              15
              scraggly hairbranches
                spread sunlight
              into a thousand shadows
                and sink --- moonrise

                              16
               hasty stars go ten inches
                 two light years
               take twenty years
                 and we wonder

                              17
                flashes of sunrays
                  pour and pound
                into the very base
                  of moon's eyes

                              18
                birds' snow-muffled cries
                 resemble a struggle
                long ago
                 in spring

                              19
               two and three coats of
                 snow help
               streets become manna
                 for dusty people

                              20
                awkward ties are made
                 between faces and
                fibrous fingers
                 trees are never confused

                              21
                woodchuck's its weight
                 around dams and trees
                in less than a spring
                  came in and
                        finished...

                              22
                 snatch your every
                   and call it your all
                          while you live
